PLYMOUTH VOLUNTARY COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL ENTERPRISE JOIN HERE NOW!
Plymouth VCSE, your own robust, collaborative VCSE organisation has been running POP and POP ideas for a month now!
This means that you, as the sector, own them and can have a say in how they work, as long as you are officially a member. If you haven’t joined yet, you can join here
Inaugural General Meeting:
This day will be another of our lively conferences, with National and Local speakers, funding workshops leading into our ‘Pitch your Project’ event in the spring and Trustee elections and name/brand choosing as part of the day.
17th January, Plymouth Guildhall and Lower Guildhall.

CULTURE AND ARTS NETWORK
They had a really good evening at the Athenaeum, which featured a great set from one of Plymouth’s brilliant buskers. Lots of activity in organising events at the moment, The next CAN meeting is 5.30 on January 18th – venue tbc. Find out more about CAN here
As this newsletter is sent we are meeting – with our usual information sharing round and items covering the Controlling Migration Fund, Third Party Reporting update, Enactus and the latest from PCC Refugee Integrated Support Service (RISS) procurement
CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE
On 5th Dec, 10 different groups – from Homestart to Intercom and Red Cross to BCHA attended our briefing to the VCS with regards to The Plymouth Assessment Framework and Early Help. Keep up to date with the Gateway (all enquries), the Plymouth on Line Directory (listing all services and community provision – MAKE SURE YOU ARE ON THERE) and the Multi Agency Hub – Child Protection referrals. Also as a follow on from POP Thursday the NSPCC will launch their Helpline and campaign around neglect on 31st January

HEALTH & WELLBEING NETWORK
We had a really interesting network meeting at POP Thurs on 24thNovember, along with the Children and Young People’s network, and the visiting Mental Health Network. It was about creating a community aspect to primary care and you can see the report of the meeting here More info here VCSE webpage
Are you planning community events in the city during 2016? We’d love to hear about them and as well as any plans for The Big Lunch on the first weekend in June.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING NETWORK
We have now completed our input into Stage 2 of the LEP/BBO Bid ‘Positive People’ – led by PLUSS. Thank you for attending the co-design workshop on 11th August. We will be sending out a network meeting date soon.
Currently meeting monthly to firm up its role and function, the next meeting will be on 9thJanuary, 10-12 at the Mayor’s Parlour in Devonport Guildhall. Anyone with an interest in the Environment is very welcome.

Both the police and the Anglican church are focusing on the Fairness Commission and how we can get things done. The Fairness Commission network will join in where it is appropriate and will update you on what is happening.
